Living the pie life...

We never started out to be pie makers or bakers... But we were a family of five, and eating out was not only ridiculously expensive but more often than not, the food we were buying was not as good as our everyday meals at home.

We are not chefs. Stephen and Kathryn both have full time jobs in marketing and social work. What started out as a mission to see if the food we prepared ourselves was as good as we hoped it was, began in earnest at the Middlewich Makers Market in March 2015. We literally slaved for hours making and baking 50 or 60 pies and sausage rolls (which we hadn't even made before!) and to our astonishment, we sold out...and did so again at the next seven artisan markets we attended.

And so Pie Love was born. Yes, there are other pie producers out there, and some very established ones, but what we have continually tried to offer, is that unmistakable homemade taste using the very best ingredients we can find, often locally sourced.

Our range of pies are distinctive, unique and the pie flavour combinations are all our family favourities - tried and tested by young and old alike. It's fair to say, even with a raft of national awards in the bag, that rest assured, we as a family are still our own greatest critics.

Served cold or piping hot, there really is nothing more satisfying than a pie made with love. But don't just take our word for's what some of our pie loving customers have to say:

‘Congleton Makers Market. Bought a steak, red wine and chocolate, husband loved the big chunks of meat in it, I didn’t tell him it had chocolate in it or he wouldn’t have eaten it. Tasty pies with fab pastry.
I had the cheese and onion pie. It was the best I’ve ever had, beautifully creamy with lots of crunchy onion and good quality cheese. Gorgeous.’

’I had a steak mince, ale and Cheshire cheese pie from Pie Love at the Sandbach Makers Market today and I have to say it was one of the best pies I have ever had. Will be buying more next time for sure. Cheers.’

’OMG! Just eaten your pulled pork pie and have to say it was incredible!!! My favourite pie ever. Will be stocking up next time you’re in West Didsbury.’

’Lovely pies, and the sausage rolls are amazing! Wish you had a shop! Xxx’

Bought your butternut and feta pie at the Nantwich Food Festival. Best pie ever :-)

Feb 2019: We have replaced our steak mince, ale and Cheshire cheese pie with an oh so delicious Aussie meat pie - steak mince, Worcestershire sauce, Vegemite, tomato and onion. Have it with a good dollop of tomato ketchup to have it the Aussie way! Enjoy.
